Crystal nVision Hold-Test Workflow
How to export Crystal nVision CSV from CrystalControl, then analyse hold tests with drop %, pass/fail, and a printable report in the browser.

Who this is for
- Technicians and engineers running high-pressure hold tests with Crystal nVision loggers.
- Teams that need structured report fields and traceable pass/fail after CSV export.
What you need
- Crystal nVision logger and CrystalControl (Windows) to export CSV.
- A finished hold test recorded in the logger.
- A modern web browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari).
How to export from Crystal nVision
Recommended format: Standard nVision CSV export (Excel is also supported). Export from CrystalControl after your hold test is complete.
Steps
- Complete your pressure test or logging session on the nVision device.
- Connect the device to your computer.
- Export using the standard CSV export option in CrystalControl.
- Avoid heavily customised export templates unless necessary.
What PressureTrend reads
- Pressure time series data
- Run metadata
- Gauge serial number and calibration information (when present in the file)
Tips
- Files with multiple gauges or runs are supported—you select the correct one during import setup.
- Standard nVision exports are recognised automatically in most cases.
Analyse in PressureTrend
- Open PressureTrend and drop the CSV on the home page (or use Browse files).
- Complete Import setup if the file lists several gauges, time sources, or pressure channels.
- Set the test window on the chart, then nominal test pressure, criteria %, and delta checkpoints in the test controls.
- Read pass/fail on the result card; fill report fields as required by your procedure.
- Use PDF to open a print-ready view and Save as PDF in the system dialog.
How results are calculated
Drop % or rise % is measured over the window you select on the chart, compared with your criteria %. The optional minimum test pressure check applies across the whole window; delta trend rules can fail falling holds (and stable holds with a net loss).
See the interpretation guide for hold direction (↑ ↓ —), delta colours, and temperature advice.
Privacy
Your CSV is parsed in the browser. Nothing is uploaded to PressureTrend servers in the current version.
