How PDF export works
PressureTrend does not render PDFs on a server. Click PDF in the workspace to open the system print dialog on the same tab, then choose Save as PDF. Export runs entirely in your browser—no extra hosting cost and no file upload.
Steps
- Complete import setup and set your test window so pass/fail and the chart reflect the hold you are signing off.
- Fill report fields (procedure, description, test date, and related rows) in the report panel.
- Click PDF and wait for the report to finish preparing.
- In the print dialog, choose Save as PDF and Landscape orientation for the chart and report layout.
- Review the preview; adjust margins in the dialog if your browser allows.
Chart in the report
The export captures the current chart view (including the test window) for the active test. For comparison sessions with multiple tests, you can export the current test only, separate PDFs per test, or one combined PDF—choose from the PDF menu when more than one test is loaded.
Optional PDF with data points adds appendix tables (full imported series for visible channels). This supplements—not replaces—your logger’s native export where procedure requires it.
Suggested filenames
Chrome and Edge often pre-fill Save as PDF from the page title. PressureTrend builds a suggested name from report metadata in this order, space-separated:
- Test date (YYYY.MM.DD)
- Test procedure
- Description
- Test pressure (e.g. 345 bar)
- Duration (e.g. 15 min)
- Criteria (e.g. 2%)
Example filename
2025.03.31 ICP60099191 WHST 345 bar 15 min 2%. Empty fields are omitted. Characters not allowed in filenames are replaced with hyphens.
Project JSON export uses the same basename pattern so saved files match your test pack naming.
Other ways to save work
- Export project JSON includes pressure series and full session state for another browser.
- Session template exports report text and settings without series—pair with the same CSV/Excel file on another machine.
- Test history in the browser stores report metadata references without full pressure data.
Troubleshooting
- Print dialog did not open: wait until preparing finishes, then try PDF again.
- Blank chart in PDF: wait for the chart image to finish loading before saving.
- Wrong test in a comparison session: switch the active test in the header before exporting.
